Aquatic Exercise Association

The Aquatic Exercise Association is a not-for-profit educational organization committed to the advancement of aquatic fitness worldwide. AEA has certified more than 45,000 professionals worldwide and maintains a strong membership base with representation in over 50 countries. AEA currently offers two certification programs in the United States and two international certifications as well as in-depth educational programs designed to enhance leadership skills and knowledge in the aquatic fitness industry.

American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation

The American Association for Physical Activity and Recreation is part of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD). AAPAR supports faculty, students, teachers, fitness trainers, recreation instructors, and community leaders who promote lifelong and inclusive physical activity and recreation.

Through the Human Kinetics Adapted Aquatics Instructor online course, aquatic instructors can learn the skills, knowledge, and etiquette needed to safely and effectively implement quality adapted aquatic programs. To earn the credential in adapted aquatics, instructor candidates must also pass an in-pool practicum, provided only through AAPAR. .
